If you purchased insurance that covers both accidents and “companion” coverage you should have no problem at all. If not, you are at the mercy of the cruise line. I hope you booked through a travel agent, since they can often deal directly with cruise lines and get better results than travelers. If so, get your travel agent to help you. Good luck! Please let us know how this comes out!

If you got travel insurance than you can get a refund (dependent on the type of insurance you got). If not, than rent a wheel chair and go anyway. It won’t be the best times, but it won’t suck. If you go this route, be sure the cruise line knows to put you in a wheelchair accessible room. You may not be able to hike or scuba dive, but you can enjoy the food, shows, gambling, movies, games and many other things a cruise has to offer.

my sister went on a cruise right after knee surgery, sure she couldn’t swim but she just took cabs in port, and took her time getting around the ship. get a wheel chair or one of those walkers with wheels.
